What is Humatrope used for?

Humatrope® (somatropin for injection) is used to treat children who are short or growing slowly because they do not make enough growth hormone on their own. Growth hormone deficiency happens when the pituitary gland — a pea-sized gland located at the base of the brain — doesn’t make enough growth hormone.

How long does Humatrope take to work?
If this medicine is used for weight loss/muscle wasting, it may take up to 2 weeks to notice the effects of the drug. Do not use more of this medication than prescribed or use it more often since the risk of side effects will be increased.

How many doses Humatrope pen?

The number of doses provided by a cartridge within this dose range is limited to 28 because a reconstituted cartridge is stable for 28 days when refrigerated.
